Using K3 with AI Assistants (MCP)
AI assistants such as Claude can connect to K3 via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The assistant can then create, edit, and test configurators on your behalf, as well as develop and deploy plugins. It uses the same functions as the AI assistant in the K3 Editor, with the same validation and saving mechanisms.
Prerequisites
- An API token for your K3 user. The assistant operates with this user’s permissions.
Setup in Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http k3 https://k3-mcp.objectcode.de/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <API-Token>"
Replace <API-Token> with your token. Once you do this, the assistant will have access to the K3 tools,
e.g., to open an app, query its structure, modify features, rules, and prices, and take screenshots.
caution
Treat the API token like a password. Anyone who knows it can access K3 using your permissions.
