The configurator offers features that do not affect the configured roof, but only the environment / visualization.
However, these are essential for an emotional sale of your roofs!

Facade customization
Pro

In order to give the customer an impression of their circumstances as quickly as possible, the façade of the house can be can be customized. We offer the <Auswahl> "Fassade" [facade] feature for this purpose.
The feature supports two values with the following keys:

  • "Rauputz" [rauputz]
  • "Klinker" [klinker]

Animations
Enterprise

The function of all shades and the slatted roof visualized in the 3D scene can be animated.
This is possible with the scene switch Shading on/off, i.e. the button that shows either a cloud or a sun. The following components support animations:

ComponentAnimationFeatureAttribute
Awning (on-roof and under-roof)Open/Closemarquee<Zahl ms>"Animationsdauer" [animationDuration]
Fabric blinds and pleated blindsOpen/Closemarquee<Zahl ms>"Animationsdauer" [animationDuration]
Sliding dooropen/closeside panel type<Zahl ms>"Animationsdauer" [duration]
Sliding frame doorOpen/Closeside panel type<Zahl ms>"Animationsdauer" [duration]
ShuttersOpen/Closeside panel type<Zahl ms>"Animationsdauer" [duration]
Vertical awningOpen/Closeside wall type<Zahl ms>"Animationsdauer" [duration]
Slats (roof)Rotating the slatsslatAngle<Zahl ms>"Animationsdauer" [duration]

Technical notes

The duration of the animation is defined via an attribute in the respective feature Value in milliseconds (ms) - e.g. 1,500 = 1.5 seconds. Recommended values: 1,000 - 3,000 ms for natural movements with manually moved elements (e.g. sliding door), 5.000 - 7,000 ms for motorized components. If the controlling attribute is not defined, a default value of 1,000 ms is assumed. The animation is executed automatically as soon as the status of the element changes (e.g. open/close/rotate).

Background image

You can also offer your customers the option of seeing the configured patio cover in front of a photo of their own home. This works in the same way as image selection in the "normal" K3 - but you need to give the 3D scene a boost. To do this, create a <Bild/Bildauswahl> "Hintergrundbild" [backgroundImage] feature - the 3D scene is informed via the backgroundImage key, that the uploaded image should be used as the background instead of the normally used scene with house, garden etc.

Dimension lines

The software always displays dimension lines by default.
These can be activated or deactivated with the Scene button Dimension lines.
These dimension lines can also be in different units (cm, mm, ...).
To control this or make it selectable, create a <Auswahl> "Auswahl Maßeinheiten" [multiplier] feature. The values of this characteristic are given two more attributes:

  • <Zahl> "Faktor" [value]: the conversion factor from cm to this unit selection
  • <Zahl> "Nachkommastellen" [decimal]

You can now create a new unit with (unit, conversion factor from cm, number of decimal places) by creating a selection value with Anzeige = Einheit, Faktor = Umrechnungsfaktor, Nachkommastellen = Anzahl Nachkommastellen

tip

This unit selection is not limited to metric values. You can allow the user to display these Dimensions in inches, for example:

DisplayKeyFactorDecimal places
inempty0.2541

However, this change only applies to the dimension output, not to the input.

Watermark
Enterprise

You can display a watermark on the terrace under the roof. This protects you against misuse of your configurator on other websites. Proceed as follows: Optional: Switch to the "Control parameters" step, if available. Create a <Ja/Nein>"Wasserzeichen"[watermark] feature. It is set to "Yes" by default. Hide the feature and publish the configurator. Your logo or that of your dealer is displayed as a watermark on the floor under the roof.

Individual house
Enterprise

We make it possible to change the house model.
This is possible by changing the main model in the configurator settings.

danger

Pay attention to these things:

  • The file format of the 3D model must be .GLB.
  • The file size of the house should ideally be less than 3MB so that the loading time of your configurator is not unnecessarily negatively affected.
  • If you want to use the facade customization option, the house model must cover the facade with the named material Facade.

Camera navigation

K3.Veranda uses the standard K3 camera navigation, with these instructions:

  • The control of the cameras for the side elements always controls the 3D scene independently depending on the selected element
  • With specially created cameras, you must always ensure that Focus via object name is set to k3d.

View terrace roof from inside the house

If you want your customer to be able to view the patio roof from inside the house, you can achieve this as follows:

  • Switch to the "Home / Change configurator" tab in the editor and click on the "Change the design" link.
  • Expand the "3D scene" tab.
  • Click on the "Change" link on the "Individual scene" card.
  • An editor is displayed containing this text, among others:

"component": "OrbitControls",
"props": {
"maxPolarAngle": 1.4959965017094252,
"makeDefault": true,
"enablePan": false
}

  • Insert two instructions to limit the horizontal rotation angle range as follows:

"component": "OrbitControls",
"props": {
"maxPolarAngle": 1.4959965017094252,
"minAzimuthAngle": 0,
"maxAzimuthAngle": Math.PI,
"makeDefault": true,
"enablePan": false
}

This removes some restrictions on camera navigation. The user can "turn" into the house. As the 3D model of the house is designed in such a way that the walls are transparent when viewed from the inside (unlike than when viewed from the outside), the patio roof can now also be viewed from the side of the house. The representation of the House is reduced to a highly transparent suggestion of walls, windows and furniture.

The configurator can still be used as normal, e.g. the side panel selection also works from the inside.
