Multiple Currencies, Countries, and Merchants

Pro

In all of these situations, you’ll want to display different prices:

  • You sell to countries with different currencies.
  • You want to offer different prices in different countries.
  • You want to offer different prices to merchants (that differ in more than just a Abschlag)

In each of these situations, you create different price lists to define the prices. When you launch a configurator, you then specify which price list should be used.

Prerequisites

  • You have already maintained items and standard prices.

Create a Price List

  • In the sidebar, go to Items
  • Open the price list selection in the upper right corner and click on
    Loading...
    .
  • Specify the following:
    • A name for the price list.
    • A code. This allows you to select the price list using the pl=<Code> parameter when starting a configurator.
    • A currency.
    • Optional: Retailers. If you specify retailers here, these prices can only be used in these Händlerkonfiguratoren.
    • Optional: Countries. If you specify countries here, only customers from those countries can use the configurator. The country selection in the "Contact Form" will then be restricted accordingly.
    • Optional: A fallback price list. If the price for an item is missing from this price list, the price from the alternate price list will be used. See Alternate Price List.
  • Click
    Loading...
    .
  • The new price list is then immediately selected, and you will no longer see prices displayed for the items.

Entering Prices

  • Select the price list you want to edit in the upper-right corner.
  • Enter the price for each item.

Replacement Price List

Price lists often differ by only a few items. To avoid having to maintain every item in every list, one price list can be based on another.

  • Open the price list for editing or create a new one.
  • Under Replacement Price List (optional), select the list on which this price list is based. This can also be the base price list.
  • In this price list, maintain only the items whose prices differ.

When calculating, K3 first looks for the price in the selected price list. If no price is found there, the price from the replacement price list is used. The replacement price list can also have its own replacement price list, allowing multiple lists to be stacked on top of one another.

Identifying Inherited Prices

  • In the price table, prices from the fallback price list are marked as inherited.
  • As soon as you edit an inherited price, it is created in the current price list and applies independently there from that point on.
  • With the Hide Inherited Prices toggle, you’ll only see the prices that are actually in this price list. In the item list, Hide Items with Inherited Prices hides the corresponding items.
caution

Inherited prices are not converted. If the source price list uses a different currency or lists net prices instead of gross prices, the inherited amounts remain unchanged in the currency and price basis of the source list. K3 will notify you of this when you make your selection.

Checking Price Lists

  • If you have multiple price lists, a selection option for the price list also appears in the upper right corner of your configurator’s preview and editor
  • Select a price list.
  • You can now check whether the prices are displayed correctly.

Using Price Lists

  • When starting the configurator, specify the parameter pl=<Code> to use a price list.

The Base Price List

  • You always have at least one price list.
  • This default price list is used if the parameter pl is not specified.
  • However, this list can also contain a currency, allowing you to switch the configurator entirely to a different currency.
