Sales tax (net / gross)

Pro

Why sales tax?

Article prices can be maintained net or gross - depending on the source (ERP, store, manual entry). The display in the configurator and the transfer to the store may differ:

  • Prices are maintained net, but should be displayed to the customer gross.
  • Prices are maintained gross but should be transferred to the store net.

As soon as a price list is provided with tax information, K3 always calculates both the net and the gross price at item level calculates both the net and the gross price at item level and rounds to two decimal places. The total price results from the addition of the already rounded individual items.

Set up price list with tax information

  • Go to Items in the sidebar and open the desired price list.
  • Click on Edit price list and fill in the following fields:

Storing a tax rate for an article

By default, the standard tax rate of the price list applies to each item. For exceptions (e.g. food at 7%), you can enter a different rate directly on the item:

  • Open the item in the item list.
  • In the Tax rate field, select one of the keys defined in the price list, e.g. vermindert.
  • Click on
    Loading...
    .

> If the field is empty or an undefined key is entered, the standard tax rate of the price list will automatically be applied > the standard tax rate of the price list is automatically applied.

Price display in the configurator

The layout component <Price /> has the attribute vat:

<Price vat="net" />   {/* zeigt immer Nettopreis */}
<Price vat="gross" /> {/* zeigt immer Bruttopreis */}
<Price /> {/* zeigt den Preis so, wie er in der Preisliste gepflegt ist (Fallback) */}

This allows you to control what is displayed to the customer regardless of the maintenance type of the price list.

Transfer to the store

In the Exit action (type: Send shop), you can optionally specify whether the net or gross price is transferred Gross price is transferred:

  • Open the exit action in the configurator editor.
  • Under Price transfer, select the option netto or brutto.
  • If nothing is selected, the price is transferred in the form in which it is maintained in the price list.

PDF

In the generated PDF, both values are always output for each item and in the total:

  • Net price
  • Gross price

This applies regardless of whether the price list is maintained net or gross.

Store API and webhooks

In the Shop API and in webhooks, items and total price each contain the fields priceNet and priceGross so that the receiving system can use the appropriate value.

Backwards compatibility

Configurators without tax information in the price list behave exactly as before. All existing price calculations, orders and PDFs remain unchanged.
