How can I hide steps or features?

Hiding Steps

There are two ways to hide steps:

First, you can distinguish between steps you’ve visited and those you haven’t:

  • Go to the
    Loading...
    .
  • Click
    Loading...
    in the sidebar.
  • Open
    Loading...
  • Show tabs step by step: Only the next step is visible at a time
  • Uncheck visited tabs: A checkmark appears next to completed steps
Step without visible properties

A step disappears automatically as soon as all of its properties are hidden or collapsed. You can use this, for example, for a “Parameters” step in which you collect wiederkehrende Werte für Ihre Formeln.

You can also hide steps based on rules:

  • Click
    Loading...
    on the left
  • Click
    Loading...
    in the upper right
  • Enter a name and click on
    Loading...
  • Click on
    Loading...
on the right. Now select the attributes that control the hiding and click
    Loading...
    .
  • Click on
    Loading...
on the right. Now select the desired action—in this case, “Hide Step.”

You now have a rule table with at least two columns. In the rows, you can hide different steps in various situations.

  • Create a row by clicking Select Values. Select the values for which steps will be hidden. When you then click on the background, the row is created.
  • Repeat this for additional characteristic columns, if you have created any.
  • Click Select Step in the row and select the steps you want to hide.

Hiding Characteristics

There are several ways to hide characteristics:

Directly on the characteristic:

  • Switch to the
    Loading...
    tab.
  • Click the pencil icon next to the characteristic.
  • Switch to the
    Loading...
    tab
  • Display section:
    • Hidden: The attribute is never displayed.
  • Rules section:
    • Hide if only one selection is possible: The attribute is not displayed if only one value is possible.
    • Disable if only one selection is possible: The attribute is disabled if only one value is possible.

You can also hide attributes based on rules:

  • Click
    Loading...
    on the left
  • Click
    Loading...
    in the upper-right corner
  • Enter a name and click
    Loading...
  • Click
    Loading...
on the right. Now select the characteristics that control the hiding and click
    Loading...
    .
  • Click
    Loading...
on the right. Now select the desired action—in this case, “Hide Characteristics.”

You now have a rule table with at least two columns. In the rows, you can hide different characteristics in various situations.

  • Create a row by clicking Select Values. Select the values for which characteristics will be hidden. If you then click on the background, the row will be created.
  • Repeat this for additional attribute columns, if you have created any.
  • Click Select Attributes in the row and select the attributes you want to hide
tip

A hidden characteristic behaves exactly like one that was never selected by the user. It therefore still has a value. This value is not displayed in the summary or PDF (unless explicitly requested; see below), but it is still relevant in rules. If a hidden characteristic is used in rules, you must take this into account.

Hiding Characteristic Values

The standard way to hide characteristic values is to restrict the Gültigkeit of value combinations.

However, there is also the option to selectively hide attribute values. To do this, proceed as you would with attributes, but when editing the rule, select the Hide Values option.

Confirmation, PDF, and Shop

The rules above determine whether a characteristic is hidden in the configurator.

Regardless of this, you can also specify whether a characteristic is displayed in the confirmation dialog before saving, in the PDF printout, and/or in the shop.

  • To do this, click the pencil icon next to the feature
  • Under "Options," select an entry for Display in Confirmation, PDF, and Store:
    • As in the configurator: The feature is hidden or shown in the confirmation and PDF exactly as it is in the configurator.
    • Always: The feature is always displayed in the confirmation and PDF.
    • Never: The feature is never displayed in the confirmation and PDF.
