Image Is Not Displayed Correctly in an Image Layer

Question

> An image in my image layer is not displayed at all or appears distorted. Other images on the same layer work fine.

Answer

Images in an image layer must have exactly the pixel dimensions specified in the layer settings. If an image deviates from these dimensions, it will not be scaled correctly or will not be displayed at all.

Solution

  1. Open the relevant image layer in the editor and note the set dimensions (e.g., 2000 × 2000 px)
  2. Resize the image in question to match these exact dimensions (e.g., using an image editing program or by exporting it from your graphics software)
  3. Upload the resized image again

Adjust the scaling mode

It is also recommended to set the scaling mode to “Fitted” in the layer settings. This ensures the image is proportionally fitted to the layer, making it more tolerant of minor deviations.

  1. Open the Layer Settings for the image layer
  2. Set the Scaling to “Fitted”
Why do the dimensions have to be exact?

Image layers in K3 render images with pixel-perfect accuracy relative to the layer size. An image that is too narrow or too tall will not be automatically stretched; instead, it may fall outside the visible area or be rendered incorrectly.
