Suppress the "Configurator has been updated" message

Question

> When visitors open my configurator, the message "Configurator has been updated" appears. How can I prevent this message from being displayed?

Answer

The message appears when the configurator is launched using a saved configuration as a starting point and the configurator has been updated since then. It alerts the user that the configurator has changed and the saved configuration may no longer be fully compatible.

Solution: Create a Starting Configuration as an “Inspiration”

Configurations intended to serve as a starting point must be marked as “Inspiration”. Inspirations are specifically designed to serve as a starting point—they do not trigger the update message.

  1. In the K3 Editor, open the Configuration Overview for your configurator
  2. Select the configuration that serves as the starting point
  3. Enable the “Mark as Inspiration” option

Detailed instructions can be found in the documentation:

Why Inspirations?

Inspirations are treated differently from regular saved configurations: They are intentionally designed as templates and do not trigger a compatibility check. This is exactly the right behavior for starting configurations.
